Connect to speakers and your home network
This player features a built-in amplifier — just add a pair of speakers and you’ll get detailed playback of your favorite music. It even offers a subwoofer output for enhancing the bass with a powered subwoofer. The ‘A300 connects to your home network wirelessly for access to your computer and the Internet. You can add an optional Yamaha YDS-11 iPod® dock to the music player and enjoy tunes from your iPod in that particular room.
Expand your music system to as many as 32 rooms
The MCX-A300 integrates seamlessly with other MusicCAST2 players and Yamaha’s networked home theater receivers. Combine them to create a whole-house system that’s easy and intuitive to operate. You can access up to 16 different computers in up to 32 different rooms, in all.
Product Overview: The Yamaha MCX-A300 network music player is designed to work in conjunction with the MusicCAST2 MCX-RC100 commander (item number 022MXRC100, required and sold separately), allowing you to access music files on your networked PCs, Internet Radio stations, and the Rhapsody music service. A two channel amplifier is built-in and the MCX-A300 can be used with a wireless or wired home network.
Wireless Connection: The MCX-A300 uses Wi-Fi technology (IEEE 802.11b/g) to connect to your network. Up to 32 MusicCAST2 players can be used in the system.
Wired Connection: The MCX-A300 can also be connected via CAT-5 cable to the network.
Computer: By connecting the MusicCAST2 system to a DLNA server (such as Windows Media Player 11) via your network router, you can play the PC’s music contents with the MCX-A300. Up to 16 computers can be integrated with the MusicCAST2 system.
Internet Radio: The MCX-RC100 commander uses the vTuner Internet Radio service, customized for the MusicCAST2 system, providing a database of over 10,000 radio stations.
Rhapsody: You can also stream music using the Rhapsody service (subscription required). A free 30 day trial subscription is included with the MCX-RC100 commander (sold separately).
iPod Universal Dock: With the optional YDS-11 iPod Universal Dock (item number 022YDS11), you can connect your iPod to the MCX-A300 and control audio playback using the MCX-RC100 commander. Most fourth generation and later iPods (Click Wheel) are compatible. Album art is displayed on the commander’s LCD.
Bluetooth: An optional YBA-10 Bluetooth adapter (item number 022YBA10) can be connected to the dock port on the MCX-A300, allowing you to stream audio wirelessly from your compatible Bluetooth device.
