Smooth midrange fluidity, broad bandwidth, and low inductance are the key design elements on our M3 Carbon loudspeaker. Extensive Finite Element Modeling along with critical analysis data from Klippel USA was used to fine-tune the driver into what you see before you. The M3 Carbon has a Carbon Fiber cone and dust cap for lightweight moving mass to keep sensitivity as high as possible while providing exceptional cone stiffness. The Carbon Fiber cone is mated to a specific custom tooled synthetic copolymer surround which aids in smooth midrange and excellent durability. The dominant suspension damping force is provided by a Nonex spider between the spiral cut aluminum voice coil former and cast aluminum frame. Inside the motor cup lies a high-strength shielded N45 neodymium motor structure providing high motor force across a single gap motor structure. Inductance is kept low to increase the high-frequency extension up to 20,000 Hz which can negate the need for a tweeter when used on-axis.

While we call the M3 Carbon our midrange it is actually a wideband loudspeaker capable of playing from 125 Hz up to 20,000 Hz. We recommend a highpass crossover point equal to or greater than 350 Hz with a 24 dB/octave slope.

Welcome to the TM65 mkIV loudspeaker. A completely new low distortion driver designed in Finite Element Analysis here in comfy North Carolina. Dedicated to keeping the legendary TM65 aggressive midbass performance while also providing smooth midrange with on-axis extension out to 5,000 Hz. Our TM65 mkIV uses our custom tooled cast aluminum basket with an integrated rain shield and a very shallow mounting depth of only 2.28″. Dual shorting rings (one copper pole sleeve and one magnet ID ring) lowers and linearizes inductance for an Xmax:Le ratio only found in significantly higher priced loudspeakers. And with 7 mm of Xmax via 70% BL one-way the TM65 mkIV keeps the pant-leg-slapping midbass that you are used to with the previous versions but with smoother sound reproduction largely due to its 50 mm diameter CZA former voice coil with solid copper windings mated to the pure aluminum cone body. The pure aluminum cone body was carefully designed with the best strength-to-weight ratio to allow for proper frequency extension and strength for midbass / deep bass extension. Perhaps most importantly is the pure copper voice coil, CZA former, and aluminum cone also offer tremendous thermal advantages as they all work in tandem to extract and disperse heat from the voice coil which increases thermal power handling.

We designed our TM65 mkIV with a higher Qts because the main install location for our TM65 mkIV’s is in a vehicle door. A vehicle door is a very lossy enclosure that closely mimics an Infinite Baffle alignment. To achieve the most performance from an Infinite Baffle alignment you want your Qts to be as close to the ideal 0.707 Qtc alignment of a sealed enclosure, which is why our TM65 mkIV’s Qts is in the 0.65 region. With our Qts close to a 0.7 it yields the best combination of low-frequency extension and natural output capability. Our TM65 mkIV is for those of you who want a plethora of midbass capability without sacrificing mounting depth.

Midrange fluidity is presented with the TM65 mkIV’s smooth frequency response up to 3,500 Hz off-axis. Couple the TM65 mkIV to our M3 Carbon loudspeaker or our M25 mkII tweeter and you have a world-class front stage.

Anechoic frequency response is 65 Hz to 8,000 Hz on-axis.
